A Dawn to Dusk Journey Working the Rooftops

Early Morning Preparations

The day starts well before sunrise at 5:30 AM. As a member of Blue Collar Roofers, I know that beating the heat means getting an early start. First order of business: checking the weather forecast and loading up our trucks with the day’s materials.

Morning Routine

By 6:45 AM, we’re on-site and setting up safety equipment. There’s nothing more important than proper harness installation and securing our workspace. The morning sun casts long shadows as we carefully inspect the previous day’s progress and plan our approach.

The Core of Our Work

Our daily tasks typically include:
• Removing old shingles and inspecting decking
• Installing proper underlayment
• Precise measurement and material cutting
• Careful installation of new roofing materials
• Quality checks at every step

Midday Operations

Lunch breaks are quick but essential. We stay hydrated and energized, knowing the afternoon brings its own challenges. Our team coordinates seamlessly, with experienced members mentoring newer colleagues on proper techniques.

Afternoon Precision

The afternoon focus shifts to detail work:
• Installing flashing around vents
• Securing ridge caps
• Final inspections of completed sections
• Site cleanup and material organization

End of Day

As the sun begins to set, we ensure everything is properly secured and protected from overnight weather. Tools are accounted for, the site is cleaned, and we prepare our notes for the next day’s tasks.

Working at Blue Collar Roofers isn’t just about installing roofs – it’s about pride in craftsmanship and ensuring every customer’s home is protected for years to come.
